About EFT

What is EFT?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is also known as tapping. It is a collection of mind/body techniques that can be used to release unhelpful or unwanted emotional charge (stress, fear, anger, grief and more) from past, present and future events. This is helpful because while these emotions are all an important part of the human experience, when they linger or grow disproportionately large, they can compromise emotional and physical health and can act as significant blocks towards stepping into a life filled with joy, peace and success.

These techniques all involve tapping on different acupressure points on your face and upper body with your fingertips while simultaneously exploring memories, thoughts and body sensations. By stimulating different acupoints while exposing yourself to triggering thoughts, you send calming signals to the parts of the brain that are activated by fear and that would normally send you into fight/flight/freeze responses. These calming signals thus act as off-switches for such responses, as well as for the release of short- and long-term stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. By re-conditioning your responses to previously stressful stimuli, you are actually rewiring your brain, and opening yourself up to a calmer, easier future.

With EFT, greater peace, health and happiness really are at your fingertips.

What Does EFT Tapping Look Like?

What is a session like?

In an EFT session, you will choose one issue or goal to work on. Using a variety of EFT and other Energy Psychology techniques, you will have the opportunity to explore all of the relevant aspects of any events, memories, thoughts and physical experiences that are connected with that issue or goal. Because all of this exploration will be paired with tapping, it is a safe, gentle and effective way to investigate and soothe past, present and even future triggers and traumas.
